Student Art Exhibition

Each year Binney & Smith®, makers of Crayola® art materials sponsors a national student art exhibition.  The local host of the exhibition is the Miami Children's Museum, formerly the Miami Youth Museum.  For the past two years the work was exhibited in the Town and Country Mall in Kendall.  Mr. Gaffney, art teacher at Sunset, entered the linoleum block prints of three Students: Vanessa Viadero, Heather Hickox, and Cameron Milne.  Miss Norman, art teacher at Sunset, entered the paintings of Peter Graber, Beatriz Cajade, and Samantha Wasson.  All of these students won the award of excellence and received art materials from Binney & Smith® at the opening reception on Sunday, February 21st.  They will also receive a certificate of recognition from Binney & Smith®.  In addition, Peter Graber, Vanessa Viadero, Heather Hickox, and Cameron Milne's work was selected to go to the Dream-Makers® regional art competition in Maryland.   Congratulations to all of these Sunset Elementary students!
