SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Home School Program
As the neighborhood school, the Home School Program serves the students
who live in Sunset Elementary's district. The program serves pre-kindergartners,
kindergartners, and lst through 5th grade students. It follows the
district's Competency-Based Curriculum, while focusing on "The
Trails Of Americana." This program brings American history to
life. Through music, poetry, drama, and dance students relive our
country's rich time line.
The Cluster for Emotionally Handicapped
The Cluster for Emotionally Handicapped students has been serving
the needs of students since 1978. The program is designed to develop
and stabilize emotional growth and meet the academic needs of each
individual student. Through a behavior management system based on
positive reinforcement and consistency, the students
are prepared to become part of the total school environment.
